STRATEGIC PLANNING

strategic-1strategic-2

“If you fail to plan you plan to fail”

A strategic plan will shape the future direction of your business and will define longer term goals than a business plan. Strategic plans consider what you want your business to look like, often as far away as 5 to 10 years. It can be very difficult to stand back and consider the business strategically when you are working in it every day. Strategic questions such as what do we do, for whom do we do it, and how do we beat the competition at it are often difficult to get into perspective without professional external help. The economic situation that faces most businesses may mean that where you would like to be is fundamentally different to where you are now. Therefore you need a clear understanding of where you stand now (both as a business and in your marketplace) and the steps to be taken to achieve your plan, with milestones planned along the way.

A variety of business planning tools can be used to help define where the business sits and the opportunities open to it, looking at both the expectations and requirements of shareholders, market changes and trends, and existing capabilities. Frequently opportunities are uncovered that were not clear before the review took place.

When you can’t see the wood for the trees, it may be time to get some external help to establish a clear strategic direction that will make a real difference to your business. WCA provides low cost review programmes to get you started. Contact us for a no obligation chat.
